Fathers Don't Lose Your Cool

"April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and eighty percent of child abuse cases involve parents lashing out at their children in anger. The main culprits are fathers and stepfathers who blow their cool and physically abuse, emotionally abuse or neglect those most dependent upon them.

So if you have a bad temper, remember one of the All Pro Dad principles – Discipline with a Gentle Spirit. When you get riled up, it’s OK to take a few minutes to calm down before addressing the situation.

Remember, it’s a change of your child’s heart that you’re after. And that comes by tenderness, not violence."
